I'm going to be revisiting stages of development for my Danai Gurira - Death Stranding project. After having finished texturing in Substance Painter and before setting up a final lighting solution, I played around with different HDRIs to get myself thinking about what could potentially look good. In this series of tests, I managed to isolate a few things that I knew I'd want for the final renders, including a strong light coming through the hair like a halo that the train station displayed, and a rim of light around the side of the face like in the tunnel and by the sea. I think by sussing out what exact things I liked about each lighting test, I had a strong sense of direction and purpose moving into lighting set up.
